NSW Office of State Revenue (OSR) has 530,000 items valued over $220 million in trust account which are waiting to be collected.

One in 14 NSW residents are one click away in the OSR website from claiming their share of the $220 million.

Minister for Finance, Services and Property Dominic Perrottet urged NSW residents to go into the OSR website for the possible unclaimed amount as it is quick, free and easy.

“If it’s your money, we want to reunite you with it, and doing a free search on OSR’s website couldn’t be easier,” Mr Perrottet said.

The OSR website requires information of the name of the unclaimed money owner, type and source of funds and the last known address.

Unclaimed funds are sent by private enterprises, government agencies, local councils and State Trustees who have not yet been able to recognise the fund’s owners.

900 claims in the form of $17.5 million have already been paid to the respective owners in the last 12 months.

Moreover, an in-store trial is underway to show customers how to conduct a search. This is part of the Government’s initiative to reunite more people with their unclaimed money.
