A new survey has revealed that NSW is ranked as the best state in Australia to do business.

According to the new NAB Quarterly Business Survey, NSW has the strongest current business conditions compared to any other state.

NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said that this supports NSW status as Australia’s leading economy.

“Our work is paying off with NSW continuing to outstrip all other mainland states and territories in terms of business confidence and conditions,” Mr Perrottet said.

“A strong business sector is great for workers and families, as it means there is more investment and greater employment opportunities,” he added.

The NAB Quarterly Business Survey was conducted in December 2016, and surveyed more than 900 non-farm businesses.

The Quarterly Business Survey are aimed to provide additional insight into Australian business with more in-depth probe into conditions facing Australian businesses and outlook for industries.

The results for NSW has rebound since the last quarterly survey, showing improvement in the business conditions.
“Business conditions have remained a little above their long-run average levels,” NAB Group Chief Economist Alan Oster said.

“That said, the relative stability of business confidence gives us some comfort, although we still think it has to improve from here to encourage the degree of business investment the economy needs,” he added.
