Former President Park Guen-hye will face the persecutors next Tuesday following the withdrawal of her immunity last Friday in the Constitutional Court’s decision by 8-0.

“The prosecution team has sent a summons to former President Park Geun-hye’s legal representative, asking her to appear at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office at 9:30am on March 21 to be questioned,” an official at a special task force under the district office said.

They will question her corruption allegations such as extorting money from Samsung Group and other conglomerates.

Other conglomerates include new big-name company names such as Lotte and SK, which have emerged through investigation.

Lotte and SK allegedly donated large sums of money to the non-profit foundations under Park’s friend Choi Soon-sil to receive licenses to run duty-free shops in Seoul.

Two Korea Customs Services (KCS) employees have already been questioned, and this investigation will continue.

Park’s legal representative said that Park will fully cooperate with the investigation “unless there are special circumstances.”

“Former President Park Guen-hye will faithfully go through the interrogation at the time and date demanded by the prosecution,” Park’s attorneys said.

“Her lawyers will actively cooperate in the upcoming investigative procedures, such as submitting necessary materials, in order to help reveal the truth,” they added.
