Community groups and organisations across NSW with innovative ways to encourage leadership and economic independence for women are invited to apply for the Investing in Women 2017 Grants program.
The Grants program will distribute for up to $25,000 per group project, as they share the total of $200,000 in funding.

Minister for Women Tanya Davies said that these grants are opportunities for organisations to develop and implement innovative ways to improve the livelihoods of women.

“We need to support the women of NSW with education and continually find new pathways to help them achieve equality in the workplace and long-term financial security,” Minister Davies said.

New projects are to be aimed at engaging and supporting women who live and work in regional NSW, Aboriginal women, young or older women, women with disabilities and women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Local councils, small business, industry bodies, training organisations and non-government employers and organisations are encouraged to apply.

They must demonstrate new ways of supporting the economic empowerment and leadership of women and provide innovative opportunities.

“The government is committed to supporting women in male-dominated sectors, careers and trades, encouraging more women into leadership roles and providing education and leadership pathways for young women,” Minister Davies added.
