The City of Sydney is hosting new series of free guided bike-ride tours throughout May and June.

This year’s free guided rides will consist of six different themed tours to cater to a range of interests and abilities.

During the Chocolate ride on the backstreets of Marrickville or Alexandria, experienced guides will direct riders to the hidden chocolatiers, gelato manufacturers, patisseries and speciality shops.

Market crawl ride from Kirribilli to Paddington will allow riders to visit four markets in three hours, while Street art ride will involve a ride through Sydney’s inner city laneways to discover city’s public arts.

Further, the Green Square to city ride will help riders to discover the best route to avoid the busy train or bus, while a weekly guided ride-to-work from Forest Lodge or Green Square will help riders to discover the best route into the city.

Moreover, the Family ride will involve a short trip from Centennial Park for families with children aged 6-15 years.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the new bike-ride tours are a great opportunity for less experienced riders to explore Sydney on two wheels.

“Sydney’s inner city is brimming with cultural attractions ? joining a guided ride is a great way to explore Sydney’s many villages like a local,” the Lord Mayor said.

“It’s also a safe, easy and practical way of getting to know Sydney’s best bike routes, especially for those looking to start riding to work.”

To join the free bike tour, bookings must be made at sydneycycleways.net/events.
