More than 3400 students and academics in Australia will receive the opportunity to continue their study through overseas research.

Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham announced the recipients of the Turnbull Government 2017 Endeavour Mobility Grants and the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships.

The two initiatives will provide support to Australian students to research and study overseas. Also, it will allow overseas students to do the same in Australia. This will create stronger links for Australian and overseas tertiary institutions.

Across 62 tertiary institutions, more than 2500 students will be offered funding to study in 66 different locations around the world. More than 200 international students will be offered to study in Australia.

“These programs provide students and researchers with the opportunity to experience study in countries around the globe and overseas students with a chance to experience Australia’s world-class education system,” Minister Birmingham said.

“Students will be given real world practical study experience to assist with their qualifications and help them build global skills and perspectives,” he added.

The mobility grants will support undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational education and training students in countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

“Almost 700 students will be given the opportunity under these scholarships and fellowships to study abroad in a wide range of fields from medical science, law and public health to mechanical engineering and criminology,” Minister Birmingham said.
