Surry Hills will celebrate Christmas with Sydneysiders by providing decoration workshops, free gift wrapping services, live DJ, Christmas trees, kid’s entertainment, and photos with Santa.

A Very Surry Hills Christmas is the village’s first Christmas festival, and is aimed at attracting more shoppers to the area, and support local businesses and the community.

It will bring together retailers, local businesses, and the community.

The festival will be held from 9am-5pm on Saturday 16 December at Shannon Reserve.

“Local retailers are part of what makes Surry Hills special and unique. This event is about boasting our support for those local businesses, residents and visitors who spend time in the area,” Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.

“A Very Surry Hills Christmas will light up and energise the village, and I hope as many residents and businesses as possible come together for this celebration,” she added.

The free of charge gift wrapping stations will be available for gifts purchased from local retailers. The wrapping paper is designed by Mc-Cann, specifically created for the event.
More free workshops will be available for visitors to learn about floral wreaths, screen-printed coasters, personalised edible gingerbread gifts, and make own Christmas decorations.

Live DJ, with kid-friendly activities such as face painting and photos with Santa will be available throughout the day for the family.
