Students can enjoy various activities on offer through the City of Sydney’s winter school holidays program this July.

From Saturday 7 July to Sunday 22 July, the City will offer a variety of classes, group activities and family outing ideas for children and young people aged 5 to 18.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said this year’s program will “keep the little ones and young adults busy, sociable and active”.

“Many of the activities for the older age groups are free, while the vacation care program for children aged 5 to 12 is reasonably priced and a terrific support for working parents,” she added.

At the Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, Stop frame animation and short movie making session will be held for students aged 12 to 17, where students will learn to create a short animated film using old school timelapse, stop frame and hyperlapse techniques.

Also, other workshops including ceramics, silver jewellery making and painting and sculpture will be available for children of all ages.

At the City’s libraries, free workshops will be available for children over the age of ten on making light-up felt badges. Also, children aged 5 to 15 will be able to join the robot and circuit making workshops.

A variety of indoor and outdoor sports workshops will be open for teenagers, where they will be able to take part in skateboarding or robotic workshops, or participate in the ‘xscape’ room activity.
