Sydney Rides Festival will be held throughout October for all Sydneysiders.

There will be three events available, which have all been supported by the City of Sydney grants.
“This year’s Sydney Rides Festival is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet, with fun outdoor activities for the whole family,” Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.

In the opening weekend, ‘Cyclocross’ will be held on Saturday 6 October as experienced and junior cyclists will race towards the finish line.

High speed cycling event will be held at White Bay Criterium in Rozelle. This event will include races for young riders, along with separate events for men and women.

The main bike race ‘Spring Cycle’ will be held on Sunday 14 October, with an estimated number of 10,000 participants.

Spring Cycle will include several races, from the 10-kilometre City Ride to the 105-kilometre event from the city to Sydney Olympic Park.

There will also be races which will be free for children.

“Of the 200,000 residents in our local government area, approximately 28,600 residents ride in a typical week- so engaging with bike riders and future cyclists at the Sydney Rides Festival is an excellent way to encourage people to ride more regularly or discover the joy of cycling,” the Lord Mayor said.
