According to the NSW Government, NSW residents have saved around $200 million this calendar year through various cost of living measure initiatives.

The initiatives under the Cost of Living Service include Free Rego, Active Kids Vouchers, and CTP refunds.

From 2018, cost of living rebates have been more accessible to customers through the introduction of NSW’s one-stop shop service at 46 Service NSW Centres.

“More and more families are taking advantage of this service each week and seeing real savings,” Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello said.

“The Cost of Living Service has been extremely successful, with over 90 per cent of people who attend an appointment walking away with extra money in their pocket,” Mr Dominello added.

$63 million in Active Kids Vouchers have been issued this year, with the most benefits going to families in post code 2250 (Gosford, Erina, Kariong) with the potential value of $850,000. Areas 2259 (Tuggerah, Wyong, Warnervale) and 2145 (Wentworthville, Westmead, Greystanes) followed with $740,000 and $710,000 respectively.

$177 million in CTP refunds have been claimed this year, with the most benefits going to residents in areas of Liverpool, Casula, Prestons, Lurnea with $3,078,462. Wentworthville, Westmead, Greystanes followed with $2,226,699, and residents in Blacktown, Prospect, Marayong also received significant savings with $2,013,347.

$12.5 million in Free Rego have also been claimed this year since its introduction in July, with the most benefits paid to vehicle owners in Kellyville, Beaumont Hills, Rouse Hill with $466,245. Baulkham Hills, Winston Hills, Bella Vista followed with $409.038, and Castle Hill with $274,230.

“I am so please to learn that customers are walking out hundreds of dollars better off after their cost of living appointments at Service NSW Centres,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
