The City of Sydney is accepting submissions of creative art programs that will transform public spaces across the city.

Local and international artists are encouraged to submit their ideas for the Art & About Sydney 2020 program by Sunday 24 February 2019.

Depending on the project costs, approved programs will receive financial support of between $40,000 and $85,000.

“Sydney is a vibrant city with a thriving cultural scene. Art & About Sydney is about brining art into the public realm so the work of talented local and overseas artists can be enjoyed by Sydneysiders and visitors,” Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.

“We’re looking for artworks that will temporarily transform public spaces across the city, keeping them lively and interesting for people as they go about their daily lives.

“We encourage artists from across the country and further afield to submit their boldest ideas of what they can bring to Sydney.”

Artists from visual artists, theatre markers, curators, collectives, producers, architects, designers to choreographers are all invited to submit their ideas for the project.

Proposals are to demonstrate artistic excellence and innovation, as well as be accessible and have appeal to a broad audience.

Proposals will be evaluated on their creative approach, use of public space, audience engagement and experience.

Projects can take place anywhere in the city.

Submissions and more information can be accessed here: https://www.artandabout.com.au/expressions-of-interest/.
