A major upgrade to Meadowbank Wharf marked its completion on Thursday.

Customers are now benefiting from easier access to the wharf, better weather protection, more safety features as well as quicker and more efficient ferry boarding and disembarking.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said this upgrade will deliver a significant boost for the Meadowbank community, with the improvements designed to provide a better customer experience and increase capacity for future growth in the region.

Mr Dominello also said “Travelling by ferry on Sydney Harbour is not only a commuter journey to and from work, but a great tourist attraction. Upgrades such as these at Meadowbank are important in ensuring this mode of transport remains safe, modern and easy for people to access.

F3 Parramatta River ferry services restarted at the upgraded wharf this morning. The first services to Darling Harbour each weekday depart at 6.03am and to Circular Quay at 6.33am.

Since the Transport Access Program launched in April 2012, more than 450 projects have been completed or are under way.

Moreover, Transport for NSW also announced a major upgrade of Croydon Station as it is being upgraded to ensure all the customers can easily access public transport services.

The upgrade will deliver major improvements including new lifts on platforms three/four and five, a new station concourse and pedestrian footbridge, improved shelter, new bicycle racks and upgrades to lighting and CCTV surveillance.

“The upgrade will be a huge boost for hundreds of Croydon customers, especially older people, people with a disability and parents with prams,” a Transport for NSW spokesperson said.
