NSW students who just finished their HSC can apply for over 300 nursing scholarships in 2017.

77,000 students who received their HSC results on December 15 can now apply for 300 scholarships for the 2017 Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) available from the NSW Government.

NSW Health said that the success rate is not determined on the Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) so anyone is eligible to apply if they have received their results.

“Enrolled Nurses are in demand across the system, providing compassionate, evidenced-based, and patient-centred nursing care in a wide range of clinical settings including acute medical and surgical units, operating theatres, paediatrics, maternity, mental health, and community settings,” Jacqui Cross, NSW Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer said.

Applicants will need to process an online application, a basic literacy and numeracy test, and an interview.

Some more requirements for applicants will be a National Police History Check, two written references, complete HSC or Certificate III qualification.

Diploma will commence from April 2017 and run for 12 to 18 months.

“If you care about people and health, are passionate, motivated, and looking for a fulfilling and dynamic career, this could be the ideal opportunity for you,” Ms Cross said.
