Local NSW communities with ideas to reduce criminal activities can apply for up to $250,000 funding by the NSW Government.

Projects that address the local crime hot spots, safe and inclusive use of public space and measures to crime prevention and detection will be welcomed by the Community Safety Fund.

“We know there is always more that can be done to stamp out crime in our towns and suburbs and we are working with the community to identify opportunities,” Minister for Justice and Police Troy Grant said. “The reasons for and consequences of crime in one region of NSW can be very different to other regions, therefore it is important that we invest in local solutions.”

He added that the NSW Government is committed in reducing crime and boosting safety and local community pride.

Last year 14 projects received funding from the Community Safety Fund and were given at most $244,500.
The program will invest over $10 million over the next four years.
