The second annual Business Startup and Build Up Seminar ended in success, with useful information on startups, franchise, and employment. 

The seminar focused on helping business startup beginners through business advice, case studies on new businesses, introduction of successful franchises, the mindset of a businessman, support programs from the NSW government, and many more. 

The seminar was held on 2 June in Eastwood, with more than 100 people gathered for the event. 

Won Gil Kim, the director of the footwear company ‘Vainer’, was invited as a motivation speaker from Korea. 

He talked about the driving force of a passionate businessman, and the philosophy behind serving the community. He also talked about how Vainer overcame an economic crisis through a “constant management style”.

Andrew Lee, the director of the Rockwon IT Global gave a seminar about ‘new business and globalisation’. 

“Even though Australia is a conservative country that doesn’t like change, it has many programs that support new businesses,” Mr Lee said.  

 Jay S Lim, the managing director of the popular café franchise ‘Cherrybeans’ gave a seminar about ‘business and franchise’. 

“Cherrybeans has rapidly grown in the past decade, and has expanded to more than 60 cafes in Australia,” Mr Lim said. “We will also be opening the first global Cherrybeans franchise in Singapore, and soon expand to South East Asia.”

“Recently, we have also launched a new premium branded café called Café Milligram. This has allowed us to expand our company further,” he added. 

Kenneth Hong, the Principal Lawyer at ‘H&H Lawyers’ talked about the Australian labour law, the roles of the Fair Work Commission and Fair Work Ombudsman, case studies concerning violation of employment regulations, the difference between Visa 457 and TTS, regional sponsorship schemes, and necessary employment conditions to comply with different visas.
